BULL RIDING
9th -12th GRADE

JR. BULL RIDING
5th - 8th Grade
STEER RIDING
2nd - 4th Grade
Steer will be ridden for 6 seconds to receive a qualified ride.
Time will start when animals inside front shoulder passes the plane of the chute gate.
Riding is to be done with one hand or two hands with a loose rope, with or without a handhold.
Contestant must wear protective helmet and mouthpiece.
Contestant must declare one hand or two hands.
If one hand is used, time will stop if contestant touches himself or animal with free hand.
If two hands are used, rope must remain in both hands for full 6-second ride.
If one hand comes loose time will stop.
SCORING
Mark the ride according to how mush the contestant is in control.
Score 1-25 on both the contestant and the animal.
If no qualified ride is made, contestant making the longest ride to be declared the winner of money, NO POINTS.
Poles, Barrels, Goat Tying, Breakaway Calf Roping, Tie Down Calf Roping, Team Roping, & Ribbon Roping
2nd - 4th Grade-- Poles, Barrels, Goat Tying, and Breakaway Calf Roping. Please refer to the NHSRA rule book for rules.
5th - 8th Grade-- Chute Dogging, Poles, Barrels, Goat Tying, Breakaway Calf Roping, Tie Down Calf Roping, Team Roping, and Ribbon Roping. Please refer to the NHSRA rule book for all rules.
9th-12th Grade-- Chute Dogging, Poles, Barrels, Goat Tying, Breakaway Calf Roping, Tie Down Calf Roping, Team Roping, and Ribbon Roping. Please refer it the NHSRA rule book for all rules.
STEER STOPPING
5th - 8th Grade and 9th - 12th Grade
Refer to and Barrier rules in the NHSRA rule book.
Any three legal head catches are legal.

Steer must be roped, and turned facing the horse and rider, Horse and steer must have all 8 feet on the ground.
Time will stop when horse, rider, and steer are facing each other, stopped and in a straight line.
FLAG RACE
1yr old - 1st Grade and 2nd - 4th Grade
The contestant can choose to go to the right or the left Barrel first.
Must pick flag from chosen barrel, ride around end barrel place flag into opposite barrel.
If bucket falls over where flag is taken out of it, it is a 5 second penalty.
If bucket falls over that flag is placed in it is a 5 second penalty, If flag is still in the bucket. If flag is not in the bucket it is a no time.
If flag is dropped after picking it up it is a no time.
Any time that the flag is on the ground and not in a bucket it is a no time.
We are more lenient in the 1yr old to 1st grade age group.
DUMMY ROPING
1yr old - 1st Grade
Ropers will stand behind the dummy in the designated area.
No fishing loop on dummy.
There will be only 3 legal catches.
Both horns
Half a head
Around the neck
Placing will follow the order in which the contestant goes out or misses.
Double Elimination.
GOAT TAIL UNTYING
1yr old - 1st Grade
Starting line will be 100 feet from stake.
The goat should be tied to a stake with a rope Five feet in length.
The contestant must be mounted on a horse and must ride from the starting line to the goat, dismount and take the ribbon off the tail, then run back cross the finish line.
Finish line should not be more than 10 to 15 feet from the goat stake.
Contestant may have a helper to catch and hold the horse, during the run. But they can not touch the contestant. If they help the contestant off of the horse it will be noted as a "with help" on the timer sheet.
If a helper touches or holds a goat it will be noted as "with help" on the timer sheet.
FINALS
At each qualifying rodeo, points will be awarded in each age group for the first 10 placings in each event. First place will be awarded 10 points, second place 9 points, and so on, through tenth place.
These points accumulate for each rode and carry over to the finals rodeo.
To qualify for year-end awards you must also have competed in 5 rodeos in each event you qualify for. After competing in an event 5 times, 1 participation point will be awarded in that event for each time that you enter after that.
Draw partners do not receive points on any run that they are drawn for to help someone else that doesn't have a partner.
